We want our work to travel. This page explains what you may republish, under what conditions, and how to credit us.

Everything written by WithoutCensorship — original analysis, guides, series introductions and editorial notes — is published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). You may republish it online or in print, in whole or in part, translate it, and use it commercially. The only condition is credit.

How to credit us

Please use a line like this, with a working link back to the original article:

If you republish online, we ask two small technical favours that are not licence conditions but help readers find the source: keep the link to the original crawlable, and, if your system allows it, set the canonical URL to the original article.

Work we republish from others

A large part of what you read here comes from organisations that publish under open licences, among them the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Global Voices. We keep their bylines, we state where each piece first appeared, we link back to it, and we publish it under the licence its author chose. We do not claim these texts as our own and we cannot relicense them. If you want to republish such an article, follow the licence of the original publisher, not ours.

What we ask of everyone

Do not change quotes, numbers or conclusions. If you shorten a piece, say so. Do not present the work as something it is not.

Corrections

Factual errors are corrected as soon as the facts can be confirmed. Substantive corrections carry a dated note at the foot of the article. Write to info@withoutcensorship.com.

How this site works

WithoutCensorship is a small independent site. It combines original analysis with carefully selected, properly credited reporting from open-licence publishers, organised into topics and longer series so that a reader can follow a story instead of a single headline. Translation and preparation of texts is assisted by AI tools; every editorial decision — what is published, how it is framed, and what is corrected — is made by a human editor.
